Val – 9teen

For his 19th birthday east end Toronto’s very talented R&B artist Louis Val not only delivered a new record, but he also went through a subtle name change. The amazing singer songwriter went from Louis Val to a simpler name–VAL. His new song is titled 9teen after the birthday he’s celebrating this year.

9teen is a soft, smooth and beautiful new record in which the amazing live instrumentation on the production gives the song a soothing feel. Throughout the whole song VAL poetically floats over the jazzy instrumental. The turing of age brings VAL to vent on this new song as he officially becomes an adult. As he says on the first line of the song “adolescent dreams don’t mean shit anymore…I’m nineteen now. Gotta make things more realistic”. It sounds like VAL is planning on taking this music shit to a new level this year. This new release–9teen–is a smooth and soothing song, which is perfect to just kick back and lounge to and sounds a bit different than his older releases.
