Derin Falana – Live From Hollowgrove (Prod. Jahmal Gittens)

Derin Falana is back after a 3-month hiatus with this strong new release titled after a street in Brampton–Hollowgrove. The new record Live From Hollowgrove serves as Derin’s announcement that he’s back at it for 2017. The song starts of by the Flower City rapper stating he’s back to work at his engineer Po’s house. Since he released Live From Rocky Mountain in April 2016 Derin has hardly released music. Out of the 3 songs he released was his take on Daniel Caesar and River Tiber’s record West, which was also produced by Jahmal Gittens. Derin and Jahmal have proven to be quite a team, as both West and this new record are hard!

Derin has been about putting Brampton on the map from the start. His first mixtape was all about his life in Brampton and was even titled 905. The debut project featured Brampton artists like D Pryde, Raheim and B-Town Youtubers 4YallEntertainment (or PHONE-EG). Since then he released his mixtape Live From Rocky Mountain, which was named that after a street in Brampton and now his debut for 2017 is Live From Hollowgrove, which he states in the record is where his engineer Po lives. Derin is literally putting Brampton on the map through his music and the titles for his songs and projects.
