On Sept. 21, 2016 one of Toronto’s greatest musical acts ever–Abel Tesfaye aka The Weeknd–announced the titled of his new album (STARBOY) and revealed the album cover, in which is hair is cut short! His social media artwork changed to match the album’s and just like that, (a day before the official start of Autumn) the King of Fall was back in the headlines.

Now less than 12 hours after his Twitter announcement Abel releases the first single off of his new album and it’s featuring Daft Punk. This first single is titled Starboy and it already sets the bar very high for the King of Fall. He clearly states it in this record “I come alive in the fall time”. The big announcement on the day before Toronto’s Autumn and then releasing the single after the clock hit 12AM seemed to be the perfect strategic move.
The Weeknd sets the bar high with this first release off his album. If the rest of the album is up to par we could expect another Grammy-winning project from the Scarborough R&B superstar.
What do you think? You feeling the short-haired Weeknd’s new track Starboy?
